The spread of the coronavirus poses many challenges around the word. Predictions regarding the future evolution of the epidemic are highly uncertain. Kerstin Awiszus and Stefan Weber analyze a simple SIR infection model. Different case studies suggest that a significant proportion of the population might be infected by the virus within the next months.
